Angels Among Us

October 5, 2011

I have always been fascinated by accounts people have of touching the supernatural. From meetings with angels to other messengers, I love to hear how people connect in the various ways.

In my 20s, I began to wake early in the morning and write for the angels. I wrote letters of hope to those who were facing despair. Mostly these letters went to my brother-in-law at the time, sometimes I had ideas to help people I knew of but didn’t know. Each morning was like a new present to unwrap.

I have seen how creative the angelic kingdom can be… and how earthly angels also can be sent when we need each other.

Since I have watched, researched and seen so many accounts of angels and angelic communication, I was surprised to see a new series that touched me so deeply. Country Music Television’s (CMT) new series, Angels Among Us is one of the best I’ve seen. The storytelling and editing make this series amazing. What I love most, though, is that the series shares the many ways that the angels and other messengers make contact with us. I believe it can help people to listen to their guidance… and those guiding us each and every day.

I can’t imagine a life without connection with Divine… and this series shares how precious each life is. The show also shares that we must always remember to ask for help…as there are messengers just waiting to help.

Most of you write to tell me that my stories help you make sense of your own experiences. Well, settle in because I have a wonderful story to share.

This week, I put my headphones on to get ready to meditate. I began focusing on my breath, and before long, I had a nice little bliss feeling moving through my body.

As I watched the colors in my mind (I focus on whatever colors or images ‘pop’ in while I have my eyes closed), I saw a bee hive appear in my inner field of vision. It looked somewhat black and white with a toffee-colored hue for the ‘hive.’ I saw bees buzzing all around it, and as I watched to see what would happen, I saw a bee look over at me and then it flew over and right up my nose!

As if that wasn’t surprising enough, all of a sudden, the entire bee colony swarmed out of the hive and flew up my nose! What? I’ve had so many amazing experiences with animals in my meditations…including being clawed at by a tiger, so a bee swarm didn’t even scare me! I did wonder what they were up to!

I could feel a buzzing feeling up in my sinus cavity and I wondered what on Earth had happened to my meditation bliss I had just been enjoying. Suddenly, just as quickly as they arrived, bees came streaming out of my nose and along with them, a foggy energy that looked like smoke. They then formed an arrow and pointed in a direction and I followed them in my meditation.

They took me into the hive and showed me the Queen Bee, and explained that the Queen is the ‘birther’ of many others, but she doesn’t go out. Instead, she lays eggs and births many other worker bees, so to speak. The more I looked around, the more I noticed that the honeycombs reminded me of storage bins, and the honey looked like golden cargo.

The bees continued along with their message…each person in the hive is unique and important – no two are identical or the same. The Queen could not do what she does without the many workers who guard and protect her, and neither could the workers do what they do without the many supportive bees inside the colony.

I walked away feeling that something huge had just happened, and the message has stayed with me all week. I feel I know some of it, and most of it will be understood at a soul level – a place beyond words.

The next day, I remembered that the third-eye chakra ‘sounds’ resonates with a buzzing of insects…like little wings flapping. You just never know what will come in a meditation, but you can bet and trust that the right messenger for you will find you!

Looking for a Dream Life:

A few years ago I did a session with a gentleman who had been accomplished in his previous career, but who was opening up to his true Self through dis-ease and physical complications.

In his career, he had been a strapping Adonis with a physique that made women swoon and men green with envy. He easily flew past any physical challenge and went from one to the next. He flew up ranks in the military easily and effortlessly.

When he was injured and had to leave his ‘home base’ in the military, he fell in to a tremendous despair. He lost his eyesight, becoming legally blind and also gathering a host of other dis-eases along the way. He had gone from gorgeous Greek God to pleading to God to return him to his previous state.

He found many healers along the way who were guiding him and helping him see that his current situation was truly a ‘gift’ and to open up to his own healing abilities. He learned, for instance, that in another time … another life, he was a shaman.

He found me when he literally faced the Dark Night of the Soul. He was depressed, in despair and feeling like all he had learned really didn’t make much sense.

In his session, Mother Mary was the primary messenger. She came through so beautifully and clearly to tell him that he must accept his current condition. His response was utter and sheer horror to think of accepting the current state of affairs that he desperately wanted to leave as quickly as possible!

Accept comes from the latin, accipio, which means ‘to take’… ‘to receive.’ In this gentleman’s case, he was not accepting his dis-ease as a ‘gift’ nor was he ready to ‘accept’ or receive the diseased state as a culmination of all of the thoughts, actions, desires that led him to that moment in time.

In healing and in the energetic world, acceptance has an entirely different meaning. As Mother Mary shared with him, it is simply a door to walk through to healing. And, in all healing, you are assured to return to your Self, and it is there that you will find your gold in its many variations. But, in our modern world, we often believe to accept something means to ‘live with it forever.’ As in, accept your fate. This is how it is. Now and forever.

This idea is literally bred into us, passed down to us from previous generations to ‘resist’ what we do not want. However, this resistance, creates an energetic brick wall between where you are now and what you ideally desire. So, acceptance, truly is a ‘key’ to open the gates of the prison where you currently reside whether that prison is lack of health, wealth or Self.

As she poured out love and words of kindness, I could feel his whole body revolting at the idea of accepting his blindness, and in our modern day thinking that would denote ‘Okay, I am blind. I accept I’ll be blind forever.’ Though acceptance is a present-state moment. It is simply the act of acknowledging what ‘is’ right now. Okay, I am here. I am experiencing blindness right now. This is a neutral feeling. It is not resistant.

In resistance, the person is holding on tightly to what they most want to let go of. They literally hold on to the past and drag it along with them. M. Scott Peck, M.D. says depression is literally holding on to one thing while trying to simultaneously go to something new. If you ‘accept’ where you are now, then you ‘release’ what is to become something new. And then you are ‘free’ to create something new without dragging along the past.

Acceptance allows us to drop the rope that is threatening to hang us so we can move to what we most want to create. If we hold on to what we ‘deny’ by resistance, then we find ourselves hanging by two ropes…the past and the future, and never are we in the present to create fully with our Creator!

Accept where you are now, love where you are now so that you may fly into your future!

Caught Between a Rock and a Hard Place

Last week, Julie Loar and I took an adventurous ride into the divine feminine on Queen of Dream Radio. Ever since I received her book, I must say that I have been spellbound by its pages. I feel as if I have stumbled upon an ancient resource full of magic and power, and each day (the book introduces you to a new goddess each day…366 in total…thus the name of the book: Goddesses for Every Day) I show up hardly able to contain my excitement for meeting another one. The daily focus is a mix between historical research, storytelling and wisdom…thus the subtitle of her book: Exploring the Wisdom & Power of the Divine Feminine Around the World! So sensual and delicious for all levels…mind, body and spirit.

This book takes you on an odyssey into many other cultures and traditions, and it also provides a daily contemplation that grounds you in the here and now. These contemplations have touched me deeply and I find myself meditating upon them throughout the day without even trying. It is as if the energy rides along with me throughout the day. A couple recently that spoke to my heart, for example… Sometimes mystery is its own source of power, and knowing the secret spoils the magic. And another…It is wise to know where I am vulnerable and whether openness or protection is the best defense.

I realize as I am sharing these contemplations that they have less meaning by themselves than they do united with the Goddess’s story the contemplate is inspired by. You will have to get her book and see for yourself. Of course, I look at this book and am amazed at the treasures!

On the show last week, I asked Julie how she divided the goddesses into the 12 astrological signs – a task I felt would be huge and I could barely fathom what kind of time and attention it would take to research and sift through more than 1,000 goddesses to choose the 366 for this book, and then to further divide them by attribute into the cycles and rhythms of the year – wow! Julie shared that the goddesses themselves assisted and helped and she enjoyed many miraculous, magical moments in the writing of this book.

I can feel it!

Goddesses for Every DayJulie Loar

I wrote about Robert A. Johnson’s book, Inner Work, a few days ago and wanted to share a little more about why I so connected with its information.

For a long time I have been deeply involved with my dreams – I have prophetic dreams, I have lucid dreams, I enjoy regular unconscious type of dreams, and I, of course, LOVE to help clients achieve their dreams.

As long as I can remember I have thought about my dreams in the morning. I lie in bed trying to pull back as much as I can about what I was dreaming. Each one has a distinct feeling to it similar to how I read energy for clients. Some of the dreams feel ‘real’ as in…you are connected to someone else. For example, I often will have dreams for my business clients or about my business clients that show me something I need to know. It is truly ‘what you see is what you get’ where the characters are telling me something about the client. Other dreams have been more like I was actually witnessing something that was actually going on in their true life. I take care to disconnect as not to invade anyone’s privacy – usually this happens when it is something I can offer to listen about. Trust me, after the experience I had with my intuition breaking open the LAST thing I want is to know anyone’s private thoughts!

All of this to say that I have always wondered if everyone perceived their dreams in this way. Do they feel like mine do? Do they work the same way? And, in this book, Johnson shares how Jung talked about the archetypes as an ‘energy’ that we, as a collective group of people, tap into. These archetypes are as old as time, and whether you know about them or not, they hold wisdom, truth, understanding for you.

As I read this, I got more and more excited because this is how I’ve lived – everything has a soul… and energy… information…wisdom. EVERYTHING…and how appropriate that even our archetypes are messengers of truth.

My mind is literally spinning with the possibilities of what this means as I recall the images that have been coming over and over the last few months…queens, goddesses, fairytale type characters that whisper… “Pssst, this way…” Mother Mary, during the Gallery at Hope House talked about everything, every day being a joy…and the image that came to mind was Snow White as this model of singing with the birds.

How joyful it is to live in this world…free to roam and free to be me. I hope you, too, will join us in this magical, sacred world of energy where EVERYTHING has a message for you.
