You all know how I’m always nagging at you to take breaks, to play more often, to GET OUT and do something good for yourself. Well, it’s my turn and I’m on vacation for the week, and I doubt I’ll do much blogging or anything else, including the show this week.

I am taking a BREAK and plan to enjoy every second of it! Think of me swimming around the pool, riding roller coasters (Six Flags here we come), staying up until all hours of the night, and then snoozing until all hours of the morning.

Hats off to you, to summer, and to me, too! :)

Alright, this is the *last* time I’m going to gush on and on about what happened last week at Canton. I talked about it LAST week here at the blog, and also on the show, but I’m feeling the need to share, so here’s one tiny little post!

First, if you are in Dallas-Ft. Worth or even near or around DFW, and if you haven’t gone to Canton in a while, you’ve GOT TO GO, baby! It is a smorgasboard for the soul and mind. Oh, and you DO NOT have to buy anything if you’ve been laid off or out of work, etc. Get some friends together, go have some fun, and walk your patooties off with some laughter and make some really good memories, k?

I remember that a few years ago a friend was in a low place – didn’t have a lot of money to spend (a.k.a. retail therapy) – and I suggested that she go and take in the ‘energy’ she was craving. It’s not always about the buying… often it is the sensory stimulation we crave – the colors, the textures, the different feelings associated with art.

My friend decided to ‘begin to dream again’ by going and looking, and she said she was surprised she didn’t feel deprived… that she actually felt better.

Last week, as we walked up and down the aisles, my mom just kept saying over and over again ‘I just need color,’ ‘I need MORE COLOR in my life!’ We found ourselves drawn over and over to various colors, and I know the chakra I’m healing right now is my throat. Lord, I feel like the healers have been working on it FOR-EVER, and it still isn’t done! LOL So, I was magnetized to a HUGE 6 foot cross that was – you guessed it, a shade of turquoise/blue – similar to the throat chakra.

Gotta share a couple of really cool people we met last week:

Annette’s Touch of Class – these gals have gotten all gussied up and have more than their fair share of rhinestone-studded rings, tennies, and tees – if you need some sparkle or sass in your life, this is the place to go!

I SO WISH I HAD A REALLY COOL PHOTO OF JONIKEITHCO CREATIONS TO SHARE WITH YOU! :)

JoniKeithCo. – if you need a razzmatazz of energy and twirl around the rainbow, take a look at these cosmic mosaic creations and tin art love – hard to believe this brother sister team are still in their 20s – rock on!, and last but not least…

Kelly Moorhouse’s Iron Willow creations are what spawned my last post, and the flying pig! These sweet glittery, shiny, colorful iron creations sure will put a smile on your face. You could probably just stand by the side of the booth and be entertained all day long watching people react to her stuff!

Alrighty then, thanks for letting me share, if you have other cool people we should know, share them with me!

Looking for a Dream Life:

This is too funny not to share. I can’t *WAIT* to get photos to put up here! My mom called me a few weeks ago, and was so excited I thought she might actually PEE her pants!

Anyway, she was gushing about something or other she found at First Monday Trades Days over in Canton, Texas (just east of Dallas). She goes on and on about how she can’t WAIT to give me my birthday present. She knows EXACTLY what she is going to give me, and she just has to have me go pick out THE ONE I want, but she can’t TELL me what it is because it is a SURPRISE!

So, last weekend we went out to see Dusty Rose (a.k.a. mom) and she is as excited as a little puppy at 12 weeks old (and you know how much they wag their tales and all that. She is nearly SQUEALING as she shows me what she is going to get me, but NOT like the one she has because it is just TOO SMALL, and I need a BIG one.)

So what is it?

It was an iron heart with wings. But not just any heart… THIS one was SHINY and SPARKLY and PINK! Yeeee! Happy, happy, happy days!

Then, after she caught her breath, she took one big inhale, and then blurted out that SHE is ALSO going to get a gift when we go TODAY to get my birthday gift (she can’t wait until mid July to give it to me), and guess what she is getting?

You guessed it… or maybe you didn’t!

A FLYING PIG! But not just any ordinary flying pig, THIS flying pig is polka dotted! (And, of course, we have lots of pig stories in our family, including the CONCRETE PIG mom gave me 20 years ago that weighed 150 POUNDS! No, seriously…doesn’t everyone have a garden pig?)

Now, I think I’m just about as excited as she was, and I’ll try not to pee my pants until I get there to see them! More photos to come!

Flat Stanley

About a month ago, Velma Gallant called to see if Eric (Velma’s son) could send Chance a ‘Flat Stanley.’ I had no idea what this was – with the only picture conjured by the name “Stanley” being a screwdriver by the same company name!

I soon found out that Flat Stanley is a little paper guy who travels from town to town collecting information that will be sent back to the person who sent him in the first place.

We have had so much fun filling out the form and taking the photo to send back – complete with Mr. Flat Stanley himself!

When I think of how much fun we have day to day living in ‘Chance’s World’… Flat Stanley will be a fond memory we are happy to include!

Thanks Eric, Velma and Flat Stanley for helping us make happy memories!

And for those of you who are wondering… yes, Chance’s hair is REALLY that thick and that LONG. He likes it like that… and says he ‘likes the way it feels when the wind blows it.’ If he likes it, we like it!
