Last night Ellany Cevan joined me for Queen of Dreams Radio. We laughed so hard, and had a great time talking about stepping into dreams.
This morning I woke up thinking about last weekend when Ellany and Brandon, her husband, were over. We had been laughing SO HARD thinking about how we all used to dress. We walked back in time to high school and talked about wearing Guess Jeans, M&B, whatever was ‘hot’ at the time. Ellany and I had shared a stint of “Madonna” and had hit the bangle bracelets and bows in our hair. Oh, and before that, remember Olivia Newton John, “Let’s Get Physical”? Oh my, I had just become an athlete and was totally strutting around school with a headband (matching my sweats and shirt, of course!) Then, later I was off to be a preppy, sporty tennis player honor roll girl – ala Square Pegs, if you will.
Mark said I looked like a Go-Go girl, and Brandon, who is much younger than the rest of us, said, “What’s that?” We all cracked up laughing – I mean, seriously laughing so hard that my sides ached. Okay, yes, I did get pulled into the Belinda Carlisle look for a bit, but that’s kind of what I already looked like anyway!
After about an hour of telling story after story of the fashion faux pas, the fashions we would rather not remember and how ‘cool for school’ we all thought we were, we had tears rolling down our faces because of laughing so hard.
I am so grateful for friends and to be able to laugh so easily.
Today, I’m wearing black ‘walking shorts’ – I haven’t worn walking shorts since high school when I was all ‘matchy-matchy’ and had every color of the rainbow walking shorts with matching penny loafers (red anyone?) and corduroy or hounds tooth jackets to boot. And guess what kind of shoes I caught myself wearing today? You guessed it… black penny loafer slide-ons!
No wonder I feel 16 again! Laughter, friends, fashion, life… that’s what is important at 16!
these are CUTE!
Looking for a Dream Life:
A couple of weeks ago, Kim St. Andre and I talked about being ‘you.’ She suggested staying in your ‘own’ energy and disconnecting from everyone else so you can know truly what ‘your’ energy is.
Yesterday, I watched another installment of Finding Sarah, and on this episode, Sarah (Fergie, the Duchess of York) works with a horse to learn how to stay in her own energy and not get ‘caught up’ in the horse’s frenzied fear.
As I watched that, I realized that to know your own energy is one thing, but to be able to stay centered and calm within an energetic hailstorm is another thing. We need both.
I watched as Sarah held her energy and the horse linked to it and became one with the calm, leaving his fears behind. I believe this is what people who are grounded and centered do for the world. We serve as anchors for others’ energy. David Hawkins, in his book Power vs. Force, talks about one person at high frequency being able to lift thousands of people’s frequencies.
Can you imagine?
Just by being responsible for your own energy, you can gift others? What a deal…1 for 10,000!
I know that I used to feel irritated when I felt ‘hi-jacked’ by someone else’s energy. At the time, I didn’t think I had a ‘choice’ in the matter. In some people’s presence, I would begin acting in ways that I didn’t feel were ‘me’ and I would say things that made me ‘cringe.’ My method of dealing with all of this was simply to stay away from people. It wasn’t until my guides began to show me how to hold my own energy that I was able to walk into a room and hold the space for myself – and others.
Now, I see that the view of ‘them’ is really only ‘you,’ and anything that is ‘happening’ is only because there is a perfect match inside of you for the energy to play out or be fueled – and healed, if you choose. In this, the gift is on both sides – for you, for the other person. Still, you can choose to play – or not.
Holding a space of love for yourself is truly the easiest and fastest way to be you and to help others to be themselves, too.
Kids have been in school for nearly eight weeks now. It’s almost time for the holidays. Are you hoping that an energy fairy flies along and makes a deposit into your energy bank?
If so, you might want to begin to ween yourself off of the old caffeine now. Yes, it is tough at first, but yes, you’ll have MORE energy of your OWN after that. I did it myself recently. I am amazed at how much more energy I have that is natural than I do when I am hitting the coffee beans.
Two other things can make a huge impact on your life. One is drinking enough water. The other is to walk 30 minutes per day – 10 minutes at a time can work, too.
These three things are a sure bet for MORE energy MORE of the time. They won’t undo the junk food and sugar/salt rushes, but they go a LONG way toward helping with those cravings.
Pretty soon you’ll be as vibrant as one of these…

A few days ago, I met with a prospective client. When I walked in, the energy felt still – stale. Not moving is a good way to describe it. Status quo, so to speak. I noticed it and didn’t think much about it since I am a catalyst, and the only companies that usually come in contact with a catalyst are those that are either stuck and not moving or are not moving fast enough.
I noticed, during the meeting, the tell-tell signs that there was not going to be a match – but I didn’t want to acknowledge it. Arms crossed over the chest, uncrossed, crossed, uncrossed. Legs flitting open and crossed, open and crossed. All the signs of “I’m uncomfortable.” Legs crossed can be a tip off that the person feels threatened in their territory (root chakra). Arms over the chest can mean the person feels threatened in their personal power (solar plexus).
Oh yeah, all the signs were there. But why? I wondered.
Well, part of it was my energy. By sharp contrast, I felt like a firecracker next to the sleepy energy of the environment. How many people don’t jump around with a firecracker in the room?
It isn’t the difference that matters, it is how much of a difference. On a spectrum, there’s an imaginary comfort zone that is alarmingly real. We all have it and we all know what it is – individually. Whether we know consciously or not is a different story.
Anyway, I started thinking about this. I know that a match is a match and not a match is just not a match. It’s not personal. It just isn’t a match. If one door closes, another opens so to speak. I found out in the meeting I was a near identical match to one of the people on some levels, but I could feel I was not a match to the energy – I was way too off to the side to be in the comfort zone. As I reflected about the meeting on the drive back to the office, I could feel something was off. But, I plodded on with the actions – the follow up. I kept seeing the woman’s legs folding and unfolding as if I knew at some other level. But I wasn’t listening. Hmmm.
But a day later, I had to admit that I did know. My energy definitely was not a match. Was I willing to force fit a relationship? In the past, I definitely would if I thought I could add value, and it was always to my personal detriment. Now, though it took me a day or so to pinpoint what didn’t feel right. Today, I know that there’s an easier way and one in which I can be myself – truthfully and energetically.
After that, I asked for clients who were a fit to find me. Sure enough, the next morning I met a woman who was like a breath of fresh air. The next day (today), another woman emailed me and I’ll be speaking at her conference here in November. Two perfect matches in less than 48 hours. Now that’s what I’m talking about!
You can always have what you ask for. Just remember to ask, and remember you don’t have to settle.

Imagine this…me, driving down the road in our Tahoe (silver-ish), dancing in my seat to the Black Eyed Peas new album, The End. There’s not much I love more than music that takes me to another place.
This album reminds me of how I felt when I was in my 20s… carefree, bullet proof, anything is possible…and what could be better than that?
Mmmmm, a luscious treat at any moment you want it. Just hit play.
