Before we left for vacation, I found myself sitting at a stop sign by our house looking at the house next to us and wishing the people would move.

Now, before you think Tina’s lost her mind and that is SO mean to think, hear me out.

Here in Plano, we have had many ‘upscale’ houses busted for marijuana dealing. If you have heard of the Showtime series, WEEDS, then you have a pretty good idea of what I’m talking about.

I am not sure why we keep attracting these sorts of characters – our last house had a drug dealer next door, and on various nights the cops would drive down the alley just to receive a bolt of light from the drug dealer’s flood lights. When that guy moved out in the middle of the night, a few days later, we went with the realtor to look at what was left of his house. Sure enough, he had had security cameras installed throughout the whole house and when he left, he literally pulled them out of the walls and vacated the premises.

Okay, back to our current neighborhood. Our neighbors prior to these neighbors acted similarly suspicious, and our crime watch neighborhood group sent many cops over to that house. Then, one day, they vacated in the middle of the night, and the house on the corner stood empty for many, many months until one day a new suspicious neighbor moved in.

This last neighbor, for me, was the worst. I did not like driving by the house. I didn’t like how I felt. I felt bad for being judgmental, but literally, energetically, I didn’t feel well. Everything about the energy said, “GET OUT!” The tell-tell sign on the door read, “NO SOLICITING!” in big block letters. Day in and day out cars would drive up, and leave. And, yes, the cops would come by and check on them very often.

About a week before we left, our power went out unexpectedly, but next door we could hear a very loud generator running. It sounded like a LARGE generator. Hmmm, what does one need a large generator for, anyway?

So, there I was the day before leaving for vacation, and though I had been changing my driving pattern to avoid driving by that house, that day, I was in a hurry. Habit took over. I sat at that stop sign and I looked over at that house and felt that energy, and I thought, “I just wish those people would MOVE OUT!”

I didn’t give the wish more than a couple of minutes thought as I had many errands to run to get ready to leave. I just felt tired of feeling that energy. Of looking at the yard that seemingly didn’t belong to anyone because no one ‘lived’ there.

When we came home from vacation, Mark’s mom met us at the door. She said, “Well, they moved out. They moved everything out and are gone.”

Thank goodness, I thought. And, I remembered that wish on a Thursday like any other…from the bottom of my heart, but only if it was for the best for everyone involved.

Now, I don’t know if they were doing anything illegal or not. That’s not for me to say, but I did know what I felt every day since they moved in. And, thankfully, I don’t feel that anymore!

I have always manifested through ‘wishing’… my wishes often come from the deepest part of who I am. Do you wish and receive, too? Then your wishes have power, too!

Know What You Want

September 6, 2011

We are back from vacation and lo and behold we came back and the weather is A-MAZING here! It is 82 degrees this morning! Yeah baby!

As we drove through the cornfields of Ohio, I wished we could take the stillness and the cooler weather home with us. Ah, looks like we did. Smile

So many gems popped in over the vacation. I made many notes and will be blogging these in the next few weeks. Chance is such a great inspiration for blog topics!

When we came home, he asked me how he could make a logo for a game he is building. He had all kinds of ways of describing how he wanted me to help him.

Things like… Where can I find a place for good logos online (this is how he has created most of his creations in the past – taking something pre-existing and changing it). I want it to be big, but not too big. I want it to be bright, but not too bright. I need a picture of a red arch, but I can’t find one. He asked originally for a logo with a transparent background, and I told him that was really easy to create, and I would be happy to help him do it. This would be his first opportunity to create from a blank page.

As we sat on the couch with the laptop on my lap, he started dictating what he wanted.

“First, I want a big red arch.” So, I drew one and before I could barely get it on the screen, he said, “I want it thinner!” So, I made the changes. “I want it taller, much taller!” Then he said (again before I barely got the last change finished), “It needs to be CENTERED, perfectly in the MIDDLE!”

I cracked a smile before saying, “Hey, I can only go so fast, give me a minute!”

Then we moved on to the typefaces. We only have 1000+, so I’m flipping through them quickly asking questions to help him determine what he wants, “Do you want it to look chunky? How do you want people to feel when they see it? What makes sense here for your game…is it fantasy, adventure? Can you feel each of they typefaces have their own energy?”

We tried five or six, and again, immediately he would respond, “Ugh! No!” or “Mmmm, that’s not right, let’s try another one.”

Welcome to the world of intuitive creating where people ‘sense’ their way through things. I know this route all too well. I have an idea in my head, but I don’t know ‘how’ to do anything until I feel my way through it.

With a finger on his chin and he inspected each typeface, he kept looking at me and how I moved around the computer program. I pointed out how to get to different tools and how they work, saying out loud everything I was doing on the computer.

We landed on a font in the “G”s… Go-Go Big is the name of the typeface. Then we moved on to colors… and the shape that would contain the entire logo. “Darker aqua.” “No, lighter aqua. Ugh! No, go back to darker aqua.”

I’m pretty fast, so as quick as he could come up with what he liked, I could easily change to match his preferences. In less than half an hour the logo was complete and he was swooning, “I LOVE IT, MOM!!! Isn’t it GREAT? It’s EXACTLY what I wanted!” Ah, gotta love creation.

At one point, he looked up at me as I was smiling with every change, and said, “Am I driving you crazy with these changes?” And I replied, “No, Chance. I can deal with someone who knows what they want and are just fine-tuning to get there. NOT knowing what you want is like trying to use a fishing pole in the ocean. It takes a LOOOOONG time. You are great. I love that you really do know what you want.”

The next day, he started to ask some cryptic questions such as, “How do you get something to be like something else?” and “What would make a logo look like a rainbow?”

I said, “Remember when  you were directing me with your logo yesterday? Remember how you just knew and we flew through the creation of it? Well, that’s what happens when you know what you want. It sounds like what you are doing is asking how to get to something you want to copy…what does that mean for you?”

He thought about it for a minute, and he said, “I want the star on my logo to look like horizontal lines, like this logo over here.” He pointed to a logo from a friend’s game, and said, “This is what I like.”

Then I said, “Okay, I can show you how to do that in about 2 seconds. And, can you see how much easier it is to identify what you want and then move toward it than to ask a bunch of questions that go all over the place? Now, we are on track and about 2 seconds away from what you really want!”

We made the change and off he went.

That night, I noticed him asking again questions about how to get around something rather than moving directly toward it. I found it fascinating and it definitely had me pulled in energetically, and I began to wonder… does everyone do this?

I realized, most people are working around their current experience rather than moving directly toward what they want. I wondered… how am I doing this?

As I watched a movie with Mark and Chance later that night, I realized, most of us grow up with the ‘work around’ mindset. How can I get around this thing I don’t like? How can I avoid this? How can I make this kind of like that, but not exactly?

What we need is just the awareness to focus in or zero in on what we want.

This is a skill. You can learn to do it. Just like Chance. I realized I do this all the time for clients, but I don’t always demand it from myself. It takes a moment to consider… what do you want? Say it out loud. Practice this. Just define it. The more you do this, the easier life will get in so many ways! From manifesting to communicating with loved ones to sharing for your job. It is so much easier when YOU know what you want because most others DON’T!

Now, I know this is a rambling blog, but this is an example of this.

I went to the library after all of this happened. Here’s the conversation:

Me: Could you tell me why this book has been ‘shipped’ for 21 days? (Where’s my focus… the question I am asking is… why has this been shipped for 21 days? What I WANT is for this book to be at MY library pick-up location so I can check it out.)

Librarian: Well, it looks like you requested it from another branch and we shipped it over there (She’s just answering my question.)

Me: Why would it go to a branch other than my hold library location? (Now, I’m way off from what I WANT and off into how does the library work?! – which I really don’t care about at all!)

Librarian: I don’t know. You can call them.

Me: (Thinking to myself… I don’t want to call them, I just want this book to come here so I can check it out – at last! at least I’m thinking about what I want now) Okay, do you really think it is still there after three weeks?

Librarian: You know, I can just have them send it back over here for you (Ah! She picked up on what I really wanted… my conscious self is about 2 steps behind! LOL)

Me: Oh! Could you? That would work great for me. Thank you!

Librarian: Sure, my pleasure!

This librarian, like all of our librarians, would have moved mountains for me had I just asked her for what I really wanted, but I started out without a focus… Or rather, I started out wondering what happened to this book because most of the books ‘ship’ and then they show up on ‘hold’ at my library and then I have a few days to pick them up. But, knowing what I wanted moved me directly like a VIP escort to what I wanted to create. This skill is especially important for creating intentions all day long as you move through your day. So, for example, each time you change your activity, you create a new intention and then you and the energy moves you to what you are creating!

We’ve all heard, “Know what you want” and yet I discovered the last few days… I don’t always lead with that! Now I can practice more, too!

Intention Takes You To the Front of the Line

Friday, I went to Minette’s house for an art playdate. I felt so excited because I knew we were going to do a ‘thank you’ video for Violette because her online class, Journal Bliss, literally gave us 5 months of art-full play! I highly recommend grabbing a friend and getting one of her classes (Violette’s energy gave us a creative confidence boost and inspired us!).

While we created the video, I looked over and saw one of Minette’s Zentangle gift cards. She has made many of these over the last year or so (and they are all GORGEOUS), and last year, even invited me to a Zentangle class where I was introduced to this thoughtful, meditative creative expression.

As I looked at the card, I felt myself drawn to the card itself. I liked the idea of small creations that I could start and finish and know they are ‘done.’

When I came home, I had some other projects to finish for work and I deliberately chose to take a day off from school. I felt pulled to more art, and so I grabbed my watercolors and started painting.

As I painted, I thought of those cards again. I really wanted some. I thought, I wish I had some of those cards. I painted in my watercolor notebook and thought of different things I could paint on those cards. I have always said “I wish” ever since I was a little girl. I wish works as fast and as magically for me as anything. But, last night I was not even thinking of manifesting the cards when I said it, I was simply expressing what I most wanted from my heart.

I finished painting, put up my palette book and paints, and then played a game with Mark and Chance.

As the evening went on, I felt drowsier and drowsier, so I went to bed and quickly drifted off to sleep. The cards were a distant thought and memory.

Today, I woke up and got right back at my school work, but I couldn’t force myself to get going. Instead, I wandered outside and talked to the plants and birds. I fed our mama and daughter mockingbirds as they chirped nearby. I felt the breeze on my skin as I listened to the chimes gonging in the background. I looked at the color of the sun on the surface of the pool water, and noticed the sun trying to poke through the foliage above me. I soaked up the warm rays and felt them pelting against my pale skin.

I thought I might be able to read outside, but I couldn’t. The energies didn’t match up and I felt myself wishing to just relax, to enjoy this abnormal 70s weather in May and to take time out. So I did. I put the books aside and just enjoyed the rhythm of nature complete with the smell of mint nearby.

I walked inside to get some water and met Mark’s mom coming in from the front. She excitedly exclaimed, “Look what I got for you!” And, there, in her hands were two brand new boxes of Strathmore (one of my most FAVORITE papers) greeting cards…100 cards total! I am amazed at how fast things come to me when I wish from the depths of my heart…my dreamer’s desires. She has been saying that she wants to paint and draw, and with all of this schoolwork on the intellectual plane, she has been throwing tantrums! I have been keeping my promise to her to draw, paint and play at least twice a week. Yesterday, Minette and I only had 30 minutes, so I knew more painting was in store for me. And, now, I’ll do more Zentangling, too. Thank you, Nana, for being the messenger.

I wish… Please send… I ask for… whatever way you ask, ask and expect to receive it!

I’m often asked what we can do to restore peace in the world or what we can do after a natural disaster.

One of the things that I find most people do not know, or perhaps believe, is the power of their voice, their intention, their prayer. In this world where so many feel powerless, I urge you to use your intention, your heart to send prayers and support to those who are on the ground addressing the aftermath of this natural disaster.

Many spiritual teachers I know are already in assistance to those who have passed into the spirit realm. They do this from their homes, connecting in spirit to assist these souls to pass.

You can do the same by simply praying a heartfelt prayer for what comes to you in the moment. For me, I have felt pulled to pray for those assisting in rescue to know and find those who are trapped, for example. As I pray for these individuals to gain divine support, I assist by lending my own energy and intention. You can give this gift also.

If nothing in particular comes to mind, a simpler prayer would be, “God, I don’t know what to pray for…I just ask for you to use my prayer for the highest good of all.”

Your Presence does hold power and I urge you to use it to serve others. One moment, one voice, connecting to others…does make a difference.

Rescue organizations are also asking for donations. The American Red Cross will take your donations and do good with it. Give, if you feel pulled. Bless you.

A few days ago, I received an email from a friend asking for any advice, information I might have about a serious affliction her friend was dealing with.

According to the MRI, this friend had several discs out of place in her neck and her tendons looked like they were pulled and scratched to high heaven.

I mentioned that this part of the body is the area that will hold anything that we are not attending to related to our “speaking our truth,” “living our truth,” and “being our truth.”

Over the years, I’ve seen countless women (some men, too, but not as many) with gaping energetic holes around their throats. With time, this scratching and clawing will make its appearance on the surface, i.e., the physical.

My friend forwarded the information to her friend and got a response back that said, “I hate my job. I’ve been praying for another door to open.”

Unfortunately, many people are not very good door openers, i.e., receivers. So, God must offer to them what they ask for in the way that they can receive it. If you aren’t a very good receiver, that open door might look like a chicken neck that has been cracked. Or a stint in a major disease.

All of this is UNNECESSARY, and one of the reasons I’m so PASSIONATE about helping people learn to love themselves. The better you are at receiving, the more that God can gift you and deliver to you all that you desire.

Oh, but that also means you are asking, too! Ask and receive… practice it with me… say it aloud… ASK AND RECEIVE – it starts with ME!

I remember when I was beginning to learn this. I was TERRIBLE at receiving. Oh, yes, I was a WORLD CLASS giver, but a HORRIBLE RECEIVER of giving! Every part of my body felt awkward about accepting something without giving something in return. But, I plunged ahead with my spirit teachers urging me on. Now, I can receive gratefully and happily. It is a joy to allow others to give to me realizing that love can be the only thing between us.

What I didn’t know then that I do know now is that giving and receiving is a big circle. You can’t give without receiving and you can’t receive without giving. So, when you think you are receiving without actually giving something in return – think again. You already have! There’s no debt, no scorekeeping, you’ve done it. Your grateful, easy receiving is the gift to the person giving. Be a GRATEFUL receiver and be a gift to someone else’s giving!

Ask… for what you desire, and realize that asking costs you nothing. Be open to receive in whatever way the item arrives! You just never know. I have so many examples of the creativity of God’s messengers. I’ll share more of those later.

For now…enjoy opening the door to receive as an infinite being worthy of all the gifts of the Universe! And, PLEASE, do not judge the way your gifts flow into your open door! :)
