A few years ago I did a session with a gentleman who had been accomplished in his previous career, but who was opening up to his true Self through dis-ease and physical complications.

In his career, he had been a strapping Adonis with a physique that made women swoon and men green with envy. He easily flew past any physical challenge and went from one to the next. He flew up ranks in the military easily and effortlessly.

When he was injured and had to leave his ‘home base’ in the military, he fell in to a tremendous despair. He lost his eyesight, becoming legally blind and also gathering a host of other dis-eases along the way. He had gone from gorgeous Greek God to pleading to God to return him to his previous state.

He found many healers along the way who were guiding him and helping him see that his current situation was truly a ‘gift’ and to open up to his own healing abilities. He learned, for instance, that in another time … another life, he was a shaman.

He found me when he literally faced the Dark Night of the Soul. He was depressed, in despair and feeling like all he had learned really didn’t make much sense.

In his session, Mother Mary was the primary messenger. She came through so beautifully and clearly to tell him that he must accept his current condition. His response was utter and sheer horror to think of accepting the current state of affairs that he desperately wanted to leave as quickly as possible!

Accept comes from the latin, accipio, which means ‘to take’… ‘to receive.’ In this gentleman’s case, he was not accepting his dis-ease as a ‘gift’ nor was he ready to ‘accept’ or receive the diseased state as a culmination of all of the thoughts, actions, desires that led him to that moment in time.

In healing and in the energetic world, acceptance has an entirely different meaning. As Mother Mary shared with him, it is simply a door to walk through to healing. And, in all healing, you are assured to return to your Self, and it is there that you will find your gold in its many variations. But, in our modern world, we often believe to accept something means to ‘live with it forever.’ As in, accept your fate. This is how it is. Now and forever.

This idea is literally bred into us, passed down to us from previous generations to ‘resist’ what we do not want. However, this resistance, creates an energetic brick wall between where you are now and what you ideally desire. So, acceptance, truly is a ‘key’ to open the gates of the prison where you currently reside whether that prison is lack of health, wealth or Self.

As she poured out love and words of kindness, I could feel his whole body revolting at the idea of accepting his blindness, and in our modern day thinking that would denote ‘Okay, I am blind. I accept I’ll be blind forever.’ Though acceptance is a present-state moment. It is simply the act of acknowledging what ‘is’ right now. Okay, I am here. I am experiencing blindness right now. This is a neutral feeling. It is not resistant.

In resistance, the person is holding on tightly to what they most want to let go of. They literally hold on to the past and drag it along with them. M. Scott Peck, M.D. says depression is literally holding on to one thing while trying to simultaneously go to something new. If you ‘accept’ where you are now, then you ‘release’ what is to become something new. And then you are ‘free’ to create something new without dragging along the past.

Acceptance allows us to drop the rope that is threatening to hang us so we can move to what we most want to create. If we hold on to what we ‘deny’ by resistance, then we find ourselves hanging by two ropes…the past and the future, and never are we in the present to create fully with our Creator!

Accept where you are now, love where you are now so that you may fly into your future!

Caught Between a Rock and a Hard Place

About a month or so ago, I attended an author’s panel at a local group. There were nine of us authors who were asked to attend to talk about the ins and outs of writing a book, publishing a book and so forth.

One of the things that I took away from the evening is a greater commitment to share with the world God’s love for them no matter who they are (including myself). The catalyst?

A well-known personal development guru who shall remain nameless.

When I arrived, I pulled out my new book, Must Be Present to Win and put it on the table along with my first book, The Power of Love. Yes, we were at a business get together, but since most of my clients are business people who take more trips to the ditch than most would dare admit, I really didn’t think much about it.

A friend who is a publicist, came up and suggested I give this person a copy of my book, which I did. She admitted that she was primarily there to get guests for her syndicated radio show. That seemed great to me as I had just heard of her a couple of hours before the gathering. Before that, I had no idea who she was – never even knew she was supposed to be a ‘big deal.’

I gave her my book. She thanked me for it. And, offhandedly turned around and asked me why I wrote it.

I told her I had a crisis that gave me an amazing experience with heavenly beings and that I documented the tools that came out of that experience in the book. I didn’t tell her that I felt it was the least I could do to thank all of the people, the messengers who came to help me find my way back to the living.

She said, “So your faith is important you?”

I said, “Absolutely.”

She said, “Well, mine is EVERYTHING, if you know what I mean. And, if yours isn’t mine, then you don’t get on my show.”

The energy she exuded was firm and she spoke forcefully. I started to feel sick to my stomach. For about 10 seconds, I allowed this energy to affect me, but then I said to myself, “No. I don’t have to accept this. I know God loves all of us.”

For me, I have done my best to share a message of love and hope to people. I’m not perfect, and often fall short of the aim even though Jesus is one of my guiding lights. He has shared with me…“Do not worry about the religions of the world. I know every heart. Every heart is mine.”

Most of my clients are Christian…usually they have drifted from their faith and are looking for comfort. Jesus is the Divine Comforter and Compassionate Heart. This is why every heart is his. He is within every heart already. To know Him, is to simply return to your heart.

I walked away from the event knowing this person was a Messenger for me. Her message? “Do you accept yourself wholly for who you are?”

In that moment, I began to accept myself in a way that is courageous. I am what I am. I am intuitive. I can hear divine guidance. I do have a high level of discernment, so not only can I hear it, but I can see who the messenger is and know who it is that has brought the messages. This means I am a medium, in the vocabulary of today.

I do assist others to reunite with their Truth, their divinity. And, yes, my faith is very important to me, and, yes, most of the people who attract to me are Christian. I didn’t ask for this. Jesus came to me when I was a little girl. He has asked me to help his people – all of his people – just as he has requested of me my entire life.

So, I thank this person for bringing the gift that has allowed me to walk courageously in a world that may not always understand that God works in mysterious ways, and brings messengers of light in many different packages.

Mark said something to me the next day as I grappled with the message I’m sharing here. He said, “You know, every person is one experience away from changing everything they believe.” The truth of what he said was undeniable. I’ve seen what one encounter with the divine can do for a person. And, this, ultimately is why I continue to be who I am.

Acceptance, Accept Yourself

I dropped by Starbucks yesterday to get a Cafe Vanilla Frappucino – my newest sugary addiction (thanks, Kathy Light!). I pulled up to pay and the most amazing smile met me at the window. This woman’s radiance and spirit were dazzling. She had no make-up on that I could see, but she was absolutely beautiful!

As we chatted, some part of my brain was saying… something is off here. I was like, “Shhh, would you? I’m having fun here!” But it persisted, and that’s when I noticed the mustache. Not a small one. Not a few facial hairs, but a full blown mustache like the one below.

I noticed it, I took it in, then I told that part of my mind, “Shhh, would you? I’m having fun talking to this sparkly girl!”

In every moment, we can live in our spirit or our judger…both being important. Spirit is waaaay more fun, for sure!

Looking for a Dream Life:

For those of you wondering WHERE I have been (thanks for your emails – I’m doing fine, really!), I invite you to listen to last week’s Queen of Dreams Radio show. I’ve had an interesting few weeks of upgrading energetically to a new way of being. Absolutely everything had to go that was not true. I literally have been sick from trying to do things the forceful way!

If you are sensitive, most likely you are also experiencing dramatic shifts. I hope my show will assist you as you flow into a greater Presence and all that you truly are.

Love,

Tina
