A few days ago, I blogged about music, and got so wrapped up in sharing all kinds of resources that I lost myself in the entry. An hour later, Mark came in and said, “WHAT are you doing?” I was totally lost in my world of music, going through my mental Rolodex to share my favs for meditating, journeying, and, of course, shaking your booty!

Apparently, that post wasn’t meant to be as my computer flickered and then *POOF* (insert Fairly Oddparents big cartoon cloud here) it was all gone!

Oddly, though, I had no reaction. I mean, seriously, I had probably 20 links to other sites (that I looked up individually) where you could tap into these amazing artists, etc. and NO reaction. No frustration… no irritation…nothing. Just, “Well, guess that wasn’t meant to be!”

Later that evening, I wondered about the non-response… Why didn’t I react to what could easily have seen as frustrating? And, quite honestly, something I have reacted to before.

What came to me was that the post was really for me. And, it was a way for me to appreciate these artists for their company along my journey. The hour was spent in gratitude…thankful for each one of these people who followed their hearts to do what they love, and because they did, I enjoyed their gifts.

I have close to 10,000 CDs… a serious music collector of everything from rap (Fergie) to trance music (Liquid Bloom) to classical (Vivaldi is my favorite). I truly love to listen to the words and the vibe behind this art.

The one thing I really wanted to share in that lost post is that music is God’s medicine chest. Feeling down? Put on some positive music or music that connects you to a happy time and instantly you are in another energy and place. Feeling scared? Put on a track that reminds you of a time when you were fearless. Music can LITERALLY transport you into a better, more productive energy. And, how simple is that?

  • Heavenly Art --- Once upon a time I lived in a house with a woman who was CRAZY about art and creating lively, cool things. She made the MOST WONDERFUL Halloween costumes (surely the reason why Halloween is one of my MOST FAVORITE holidays – and it IS a holiday – of the year). Her costumes were elaborate and
  • San Diego – Part Six --- Mark asked me the other day how I can write about three or four days for so many posts. WHAT is so important? What could you possibly say for so many posts? Hmmm, that’s a great question, I thought. Everything and nothing at all. One of the things I noticed the most on that trip was a
  • Jo-Ann’s is Having a Sale! --- Okay, so I can’t resist cute, sweet graphics. had to share this Firefly Frenzy sale circular – it is so cute! I went to Jo-Ann’s last Saturday to get some candles (remember my anniversary post where I decided to get candles here instead of trekking halfway across Texas to get my favs?) Anyway, I love Jo-Ann’s
  • Lost in Space --- Today, Mark, Chance and I went to a birthday party for our nephew’s (Chance’s cousin) birthday. It reminded me of a different time, a slower time – maybe the 60s, possibly the 70s – way before birthdays became ‘productions.’ There we were at the park, the wind was blowing about 30 miles per hour. My
  • Canon, Quincy, Night Gallery & Marcus Welby, M.D. --- Last night, Chance and his Nana watched America’s Got Talent. They were so cute in there commenting on the talent, voting for their favorites. It reminded me of some of my favorite times with my grandmother (who is passed). She and I used to watch all of these ‘guy’ shows. My grandmother was a true
